Below is a brief outline of the shipping process for shipments to and from the U.S which covers documentation requirements and commonly asked questions.  For service members who are scheduled to move from one US base to another, we offer Domestic POV Transport as well.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Your vehicle is an extension of you. You may have been driving it when you went on your first date. Or perhaps it took you to your first duty station. You drove your kids home from the hospital in it. It takes you on joyrides and adventures. So it is only natural that you would want to have that little piece of home with you while you’re far away.

We hope that our level of care in shipping your vehicle shows our gratitude to you for your service.

When you take advantage of car shipping for military personnel through us, we will handle the logistics of getting your vehicle from the U.S. to Europe or back. You will need to prepare the vehicle by cleaning it and removing any aftermarket components and personal items. The gas tank must not be more than a quarter full. From there, we will oversee your vehicle’s transport on one of the many trusted carriers with which we work. In some cases, you may be able to have your vehicle delivered directly to your final destination through our trucking service.

At Trans Global, we have been shipping cars for U.S. service members for more than 20 years. We understand your needs and expectations. Our mission is to make sure the shipment of your vehicle is a positive experience. We believe you deserve superior service and peace of mind.

Please contact us if you are interested in this option.

The destination fees you can expect to incur are terminal charges, customs clearance, as well as a handling fee charged by the local agent. These fees vary by destination but can be provide to you prior to your shipment upon request.

The exterior of your POV must be washed and cleaned of all dirt. The interior of your vehicle must be vacuum cleaned with only factory installed items in the vehicle.

Unfortunately we do not have an online tracking system. You can however go to http://www.marinetraffic.com/en/, enter the vessel name your vehicle is on which we’ll provide you and you’ll be able to see in real time where that vessel is. Alternatively, contact either our U.S. or Europe office (depending on which one you booked with) or send us an email requesting an update on your shipment. Please include first and last name, order number, if available and destination.

Each country has different requirements. Please contact the local agent prior to your vehicle arriving. Their contact details will be provided to you at time of booking.

We are required to present Port and Customs Officials authority to act on your behalf. Your Power of Attorney enables our representatives to complete the import and or export process.

Generally speaking, transit times vary from 30-60 days depending on destination and vessel availability.

We only work with quality providers to insure your vehicle is properly cared for during its sea voyage but unfortunately, no one can guarantee this. We do offer all risk Marine Insurance for peace of mind and coverage in the unlikely event your vehicle is damaged. Please be aware that Steamship lines can only be held responsible for up to $500 regardless of the amount of the damage caused so we strongly suggest taking out Marine Insurance. Some vehicle insurance providers already include this coverage in your policy so check with them first to see if you’re already covered.
